Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has welcomed the new 61,472 people in Milton Keynes have received their booster jab so far but is urging more people to come forward on 'Boost Day'.
'Boost Day' is the one year anniversary of the UK becoming the first country in the world to approve Pfizer's Covid vaccine, with more han 115 million vaccine doses now administered across the UK.
The Conservative Government announced this week that the booster programme will be extended to all over 18s by the end of January, but Ben Everitt MP is urging those currently eligible to come forward and get boosted as soon as possible.
He said: "It's absolutely fantastic the way people in Milton Keynes and across the United Kingdom have come forward for their Covid vaccinations and I'm delighted more than 61,000 people in MK have now been boosted too.
"But we're not out of the woods yet and with a difficult winter ahead, as well as the emergence of the Omicron variant, it's more important than ever to ensure you're fully protected against the virus by getting boosted if you're eligible."
