Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has shared his delight that the first year of the Maple Centre at Milton Keynes University Hospital has been a success.
The extension to the hospital was backed by more than £10 million of funding from the Conservative Government secured by the local MPs and opened in 2022.
Since then it has seen more than 20,000 patients, with 26 extra beds and 16 more assessment rooms which allows for same day emergency care and to alleviate pressures on the hospital.
Ben Everitt MP said: "I'm delighted to be celebrating the first birthday of the Maple Centre at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
"The Conservative Government is absolutely committed to investing in healthcare in Milton Keynes and Ministers constantly have banging on their doors asking for me campaigning for more investment.
"So it's great to see an example of that funding in action with more than 20,000 patients seen in its first year and credit has to go to Joe Harrison and the team at MK Hospital for the fantastic work they are doing."
