Thank you to everybody who took time out of their day to meet with us yesterday evening. I appreciate the timing wasn't the best but it was the only way we could fit it into all of our diaries with so many different meetings going on.
The key message from the meeting with Ousedale's headteacher is that they understand the impact this is having on parents and children and want to help if they can.
To be able to put on an additional class they would need to hire an extra three teachers to be able to cover the different subjects and periods. They are currently advertising for these roles and if you want to share those adverts more widely please do so.
The school does not believe physical space will be an issue, but if it is we would be able to look at supporting.
The headteacher also stressed the importance of getting your appeals in and please do make sure they focus on the impact the decision will have on your child. The decisions are focused around the impact on the children, rather than the parents.
We have some deadlines coming up:
End of March - You must submit your appeals to Ousedale School
5th May - The date we will know the number of late applications
31st May - The date the school will know what their staffing situation will be like for September
Please do not be concerned if it seems there is a lull in new information as there will be times where we simply have to wait but I am confident all parties are working towards a positive outcome.
You have my email address if you need to contact me and I'll do my best to help.
