Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has raised the issue of antisocial behaviour involving motorbikes with local police after a fire at the Balancing Lakes in Wolverton last week (Thursday 28th July).
The blaze was caused by a burnt out motorbike and required five fire crews to attend the scene with residents in nearby Stony Stratford being forced to close their windows due to the smoke.
Ben has spoken to Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council about the ongoing problem of motorbikes being ridden up and down the Redways between Stacey Bushes, Greenleys and Fullers Slade.
He has raised this with Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber and the local police force, as well as suggesting increasing CCTV and lighting in the area.
Ben Everitt MP said: "We need to crack down on this antisocial behaviour as this incident could have been a lot worse and I appreciate Wolverton and Greenleys Town Council taking the time to talk me through the issues.
"I want to thank the firefighters for their impressive response preventing any further damage to the environment and threat to life.
"If you see motorbikes that are not licensed and are causing issues within your community please do report them online to Thames Valley Police as the police can only act if they are aware."
