Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, is backing calls to for the Queen Elizabeth II University Milton Keynes.
MK:U has already suggested it would he honoured to be renamed in tribute to Her Late Majesty The Queen and Ben believes the university has the perfect business case.
Ben Everitt MP said: “Over the last week we’ve seen just how much the Queen touched the lives of so many people across Milton Keynes and the rest of the country.
“We were so proud to have been awarded city status by Her Late Majesty just a few months ago and this would be a wonderful tribute.
“I hope the Government will consider this incredible opportunity to pay tribute to the Queen and give MK:U the backing to go ahead and become the Queen Elizabeth II University Milton Keynes.”
