Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has visited the Volkswagen UK National Learning Centre to see their apprenticeships in action, hear about their future plans and test drive an electric car.
The National Learning Centre is based in Wymbush while Volkswagen UK's national HQ is in Blakelands. Ben was delighted to hear about the hundreds of young people supported by the business' apprenticeships scheme and even talk to some of the apprentices involved in the scheme.
The Conservative Government is banning the sale of new petrol or diesel cars from 2030, a move supported by Ben Everitt MP, to help tackle climate change and Volkswagen gave a presentation on the company's environmentally friendly plans, while Ben was given a chance to drive their all-electric ID.3.
The MK North MP said: "It was fantastic to meet the team at Volkswagen and hear about their ambitious electric vehicle plans.
"I was delighted to be able to meet some of the apprentices who are taking part in the Volkswagen UK scheme and hear the positive impact it's having on their lives."
