Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, caught up with Thames Valley Police at Wolverton police station to discuss a number of important local issues including knife crime and car cruising.
Tackling knife crime is at the top of Ben's agenda locally with 782 newly recruited officers and last year's launch of Op Deter a step forward in the right direction, while he has also championed local charities such as the Safety Centre and Boxing Clever MK for their prevention work.
Also on the agenda was car cruising and racing which affects residents in Central Milton Keynes and Newport Pagnell, as well as other areas in the city, and Ben has worked closely with the local force on this issue. Action has been taken and cars have been seized in an attempt to get a grip on this issue.
There were a number of other issues discussed including unauthorised encampments, neighbourhood police officers and violence against women and girls.
