Four schools across Ben Everitt MP's Milton Keynes North constituency are set to receive funding from the Conservative Government to make building improvements.
Oakgrove School will receive funding for a flat roof refurbishment, Ousedale School will benefit from a fire door replacement and heating upgrade, New Bradwell Primary School will get fire safety and electrical improvements, while Jubilee Wood Primary School will also get fire safety and electrical improvements, as well as a boiler and heating distribution replacement.
The investment comes from the Conservative Government's Condition Improvement Fund which local schools can apply for annually to address significant condition needs – that is, keeping education providers’ buildings safe and in good working order. This includes funding projects that address health and safety issues, building compliance and buildings in poor condition.
Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, said: "Every student in Milton Keynes should be able to go to school in buildings up to the correct standard so I welcome this latest round of funding from the Conservative Government allowing for important works to be undertaken at Ousedale, Oakgrove, New Bradwell and Jubilee Wood."
