Renters on Universal Credit or Housing Benefits in Milton Keynes will be up to £50 a week better off thanks to a Government boost to Local Housing Allowance.
The increase will provide further cost of living support to over a million people across the country as the Government continues to tackle inflation.
Whilst inflation has halved, local MP Ben Everitt has been fighting for further support for the most vulnerable in Milton Keynes with housing costs the number one expense for families.
Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, commented: “I’m delighted the Government is continuing to do everything it can to support the most vulnerable people in Milton Keynes.
“From £900 in Cost Of Living payments over the last 12 months, to a 10% increase in benefits, to now increasing the Local Housing Allowance for renters by up to £222 a month.”
