Milton Keynes North MP Ben Everitt has welcomed an additional £600 million funding to help local councils tackle coronavirus in care homes.
Councils across the country have already been provided with £3.2 billion extra funding from Government during the crisis, with MK Council benefitting from an extra £13,504,845 to help them provide essential services.
The money will be specifically focused on care homes to ensure councils can deliver frontline services and support to those who need it most.
Ben commented, “This extra funding is extremely welcome to ensure our hard working local council officers have the right resources to protect the most vulnerable people.
“The fund will support measures to reduce staff movement between care homes, protect wages and provide training.
“It will also ensure that each care home in England will be given a named clinical lead to fast-track the care of residents and staff.”
