Milton Keynes’ MPs have welcomed the news MK Council is set to receive £500,000 from the Government to provide housing support for vulnerable people.
This extra funding will help the thousands of people who were housed during the pandemic to stay in accommodation this year.
It will be used to help people into the private rented sector, secure interim accommodation such as supported housing, and assess the wider support these people need in order to rebuild their lives.
Ben Everitt, the MP for MK North, commented: “I’m proud this Government is doing everything is can to keep vulnerable people off the streets.
“This extra funding for MK Council will go along way towards providing the support people need over the coming months.”
Iain Stewart, the MP for MK North, said: “I welcome this extra funding for MK Council, which will benefit vulnerable people in Milton Keynes who have been housed during the COVID-19 outbreak for the next year.
“The Next Steps Accomodation Programme is just another example of the Conservative Government’s commitment to helping vulnerable citizens through this pandemic.”
