Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, is celebrating a success after Chancellor Jeremy Hunt confirmed fuel duty would be frozen at his Budget speech on Wednesday (15th March).
At last year's Budget, the Conservative Government cut fuel duty for petrol and diesel by 5 pence per litre across the whole of the UK and the Chancellor has announced this will remain in place for another year.
This is a win for local MP Ben after he backed a campaign by Fair Fuel UK and former Home Secretary Priti Patel calling on fuel duty to be frozen again.
Ben has been a strong campaigner for Milton Keynes' motorists and recently called for a pump pricing watchdog to monitor and stop bad practice on garage forecourts, and wrote to the Competition & Markets Authority raising concerns over unfair petrol prices for MK residents compared to neighbouring areas.
