Universities Minister Robert Halfon joined Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, on a visit to MK:U's Innovation Hub in Central Milton Keynes last week.
The Minister met with Chief Executive Lynette Ryals to see the impact that MK:U has on individual learners, local and national businesses and the skills gap locally.
Ben and the Minister sat in on an online teaching session with students in their second year of Data Science and Digital Technology apprenticeships, and spoke to a group of Level 5 students in-person.
Ben Everitt MP has been a huge champion of MK:U since being elected as MP for Milton Keynes North and is supportive of their continued work to expand and offer new courses.
He said: "Addressing the skills gap is absolutely vital to getting our economy, both locally and nationally, booming and that's why I'm such a huge champion of the work MK:U is doing to provide degree apprenticeships right here in Milton Keynes.
"I'm delighted we were able to get the Minister along for a visit to see the fantastic opportunities MK:U is providing to students and their work with local businesses in the city."
