Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has met with Joe Harrison, the CEO of Milton Keynes University Hospital, to discuss the pandemic, plans for the future and see the progress on the £10 million Pathway Unit.
The Government has provided £9.95 million for Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to develop a ‘pathway unit’ which will provide a primary, community and acute facility for the management of patients with ambulatory care sensitive conditions and the frail elderly.
Building started earlier this year and Ben, along with MK South MP Iain Stewart, visited the site to see how construction was coming along.
The MPs were also provided with updates on the COVID-19 situation at the hospital in Milton Keynes and plans for the future of the hospital including the proposed £200 million brand new Women's and Children's Hospital adjacent to the site of MKUH.
