Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has laid a wreath at the Newport Pagnell war memorial during the Remembrance Day Parade through the market town on Sunday (14/11).
The Remembrance Parade formed in Queens Avenue, before the motorcycles of RBL Riders Branch moved off followed by the rest of the march down the High Street towards the war memorial.
The Act of Remembrance was read by Revd. Nick Evan prior to the Wreath Laying Ceremony where the names of the fallen locally were read by students of the Diamond Theatre.
Lt. Col. Simon Wilkinson TD DL of Buckinghamshire was the first to lay a wreath at the memorial, along with The Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr. Amanda Marlow, The Mayor of Newport Pagnell Cllr. Paul Day, The Royal British Legion's Branch Chairman Mr Ray Smith, The Royal Marines Association, The Royal Green Jackets Association, other ex-service organisations, The Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police, The Sea Cadets and the Army Cadets.
Ben then joined veterans and members of the local Royal British Legion branch for lunch at the Swan Revived.
