Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has continued his campaign for a new university in Milton Keynes with a meeting at the Department for Education.
Since getting elected in December 2019 Ben has been lobbying the Government to back the Cranfield University-led MK:U project which would see an on-site university built in Central Milton Keynes focussed on digital and technical skills.
The project already has 119 business supporters in the region who will help co-develop and co-deliver the curriculum to ensure students are getting the skills local businesses need.
Ben Everitt MP said: "Milton Keynes already has some fantastic education institutions such as The Open University and Milton Keynes College and I truly believe now is the right time for us to finally have our own on-site university which will help tackle the future skills gap.
"The team led by Cranfield University has done an incredible job putting the business case together and after disappointment in the autumn Budget I hope the Government will think again and provide funding for MK:U."
