Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has met with the team behind award-winning scheme Boxing Clever which helps transform the lives of young people across Milton Keynes.
Boxing Clever was set up by PC Adrian Cafe, who also runs the New Bradwell Youth Boxing Club, and has works with local authorities, police, health organisations, public and private sector organisations, and third sector organisations to deliver an inclusive service.
The scheme is based out of Bletchley Boxing Club in Kiln Farm and has also gone into schools to deliver boxing sessions to young people. Participating pupils will sign an acceptable behaviour contract and has seen improved behaviour and attendance at schools.
Ben met with Head Coach of Bletchley Amateur Boxing Club Kevin McCarthy, Claire Byrne and PC Adrian Cafe and even had a go in the ring himself.
Ben Everitt MP said: "It was absolutely brilliant to hear about the fantastic success Boxing Clever has had in the past and I'm delighted it will be relaunching after stopping due to the COVID pandemic.
"Schemes like Boxing Clever and the New Bradwell Youth Boxing Club are so important to keeping young people engaged and away from antisocial behaviour and I want to thank Kevin, Claire and Ady for their fantastic work and dedication to such an amazing cause."
