Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, paid a visit to the Knife Angel which is in Milton Keynes until January as part of a month of action against knife crime.
Team from the MK Dons Sports and Education Trust (MK Dons SET) spoke to Ben about the work they were doing with schools and young people across the city on knife crime prevention and the ambition they have to sign up 10,000 new anti-violence ambassadors while the Knife Angel is here.
Ben has been a passionate campaigner against knife crime since being elected as Member of Parliament for Milton Keynes North three years ago and the visit of the Knife Angel follows work he has been doing with the Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber, Thames Valley Police, the Home Office and the Crown Prosecution Service to ensure a tougher approach.
Ben Everitt MP said: "It was a truly humbling experience to actually see the Knife Angel in person and I would strongly encourage anybody who hasn't already been down to see it to make sure you do if you get the chance.
"We've been doing a lot of work in Milton Keynes on knife crime to make sure we can say: if you are caught with a knife in Milton Keynes, you will spend time behind bars."
