Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has heaped praise on the annual Olney Pancake Day Races after saying he had a "flippin' fantastic time" at the historic event.
Since becoming an MP, Ben has regularly started one of the children's races at the traditional event which dates back to the 1400s and this year was no different.
At the event, the local MP caught up with ward councillors Keith McLean, Peter Geary and David Hosking and other local dignitaries, before speaking to local residents and businesses including Pickles Pet Pantry.
This year's official souvenir programme cover was designed by Amelie, from Olney Middle School and the race winner was Eloise Kramer, with Kate Wales and Charlotte Pask finishing in second and third respectively.
Ben Everitt MP said: "As always it was flippin' fantastic to take part in the annual Olney Pancake Day Races and get to start one of the children's races!
"It was wonderful to see the town buzzing for this huge traditional event and it was lovely to catch-up with so many residents and local businesses.
"Congratulations to Eloise and all the winners of the children's races - and of course to everybody who took part and helped arrange such a fantastic event."
