29,600 families in Milton Keynes are set to receive the second of three £300 Cost Of Living payments from the Conservative Government in November.
The three payments will total up to £900 for those eligible and on means-tested benefits, such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or tax credits, in 2023 to 2024, and eligible pensioner households will also receive a further £300 payment later this year as an addition to the Winter Fuel Payment.
The payments will be made automatically between 31 October and 19 November 2023.
Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, said: "Today's news that inflation has dropped to 6.7% is a positive step in the right direction but I know the cost of living is still a real problem for families across Milton Keynes so this second £300 payment is welcome.
"The Conservative Government is supporting the most vulnerable households through these tough economic times caused by Putin's war in Ukraine and the impact of the pandemic."
Jeremy Hunt, Chancellor of the Exchequer, added: "Halving inflation and getting price rises under control is the best way to support households struggling with their bills. But it is also right that we are helping the most vulnerable in our society, and this latest Cost of Living payment is part of a package of support worth £3,300 per household on average over this year and last to help those struggling the most."
