Milton Keynes North MP Ben Everitt joined Higher Education Minister Robert Halfon in meeting students and apprentices at the Open University in Milton Keynes last week.
Following a meeting with the OU's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Blackman, the Minister and the local MP took part in a roundtable discussion where they heard inspirational stories about the benefits of studying at the OU through distance-learning.
Both Ben and Minister Halfon have used their roles to champion the work the Open University does to provide access to higher education for those who may usually feel they are unable to.
Ben Everitt MP said: "It was absolutely inspirational listening to the stories from students and apprenticeships at the Open University.
"I am always highlighting the incredible work the Open University does to ministers and businesses so I'm delighted the Minister was able to come back to the Open University and see the impact of their work in action."
