Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has praised the work of local charities in the city in helping to end homelessness and rough sleeping.
When Labour took control of Milton Keynes Council in 2014, the city saw a huge rise in rough sleeping in the following years leading it to being dubbed 'tent city'.
Since being elected as the Milton Keynes North MP in 2019, Ben has championed local charities such as the YMCA and the Bus Shelter MK and has secured more than £20 million in Government support for Milton Keynes to tackle rough sleeping and homelessness.
On a visit to the YMCA in Milton Keynes on Friday (12th January), Ben was able to see the impact of the local work the charity does to change the lives of vulnerable people.
The local MP said: "The work local charities like the YMCA do to support the most vulnerable people in Milton Keynes is inspirational and I can't thank them enough for their incredible efforts.
"I'm delighted we've managed to secure more than £20 million from the Conservative Government since 2019 for an issue I pledged as my top priority when I was elected.
"But just one person sleeping on the streets is one too many and I will keep fighting down in Westminster to end homelessness once and for all."
