Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has congratulated the Bell & Bear in Emberton for reaching the final of the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards 2024.
The local MP called on local people to nominate a community pub heroes for the national awards last year and The Bell & Bear will now be heading to the grand final in the Houses of Parliament next week.
Ben visited the Bell & Bear, with local Olney ward councillor Keith McLean who is a shareholder in the pub, to hear about how they re-opened as a community pub a couple of years ago to great success and are now at the heart of the community in Emberton with regular quiz nights, food truck events and more.
Ben Everitt MP said: "I am absolutely delighted that the Bell & Bear has made it to the final of the PubAid Community Pub Hero Awards and wish them all the best in the final in Westminster next week.
"Pubs are at the heart of our local communities and it's fantastic that local people managed to get the pub up and running again with so many fantastic events for the village."
