Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has shared his delight that Milton Keynes is set to benefit from extra funding to boost active travel across the city.
Milton Keynes City Council will be provided with £154,456 to help make it easier and safer to choose to cycle or walk if people wish.
Local MP Ben Everitt has welcomed this news but urged the Labour-Lib Dem Council to put residents at the heart of any plans after its failure to give town councils notice of its 'Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan' consultation last year.
He said: "Getting active is absolutely vital in improving the mental and physical wellbeing of people across Milton Keynes so I'm delighted the Conservative Government is investing yet more funding into walking and cycling locally.
"The Government provided significant investment for walking and cycling last year but the Labour-Lib Dem council let down residents with its poor communication so I hope they will put residents at the heart of this funding and make sure their views are heard and listened to."
