A New Hospital For MK And Investing In Healthcare

During my election campaign and following my election in December 2019 I was campaigning for a new Women and Children's Hospital in Milton Keynes.

I have spent many hours lobbying Health Ministers ever since my election to ensure we can get funding for this new hospital and I'm delighted it has been approved for funding. The new hospital is set to be built before 2030. As well as the new hospital we've also got a new radiotherapy centre on the way and a new imaging centre.

We also secured £10 million worth of Government funding for the Maple Centre which opened at Milton Keynes University Hospital in autumn 2022, while a new mobile breast cancer screening unit was announced for the hospital.

On top of this, Milton Keynes is getting TWO new Community Diagnostic Centres - one is already up and running in Whitehouse, while the other will open in Central Milton Keynes soon.

One of my proudest achievements for healthcare in Milton Keynes has been ensuring the expansion of opt-out HIV testing was rolled out to Milton Keynes University Hospital by working with national HIV charities. This will be so important in providing better life outcomes.

We also opened a brand new 22 bed ward at Milton Keynes University Hospital over the winter and have invested in energy efficiency upgrades to buildings.

This is a record of achievement on local healthcare. And I won't stop fighting for more.
